Mixing Thoughts with Blood One second was all it took
Crying out in pain and desire for solace
She could see that nothing was left for her

Fictional PhotogrpahsAs I sit there vacantly by my bed
I stare at the offending space
that once was bare and yet
now holds a dozen pictures.
Each photograph, haphazardly placed
shows within a scene of my life --
within each a scene I remember far too well.

Each calls to my mind a vision,
a time when I was alone --
each holding within it
an incriminating scene
that I was certain none had beheld,
for none were with me.

Beautiful Ugliness

Beauty knows no better ugliness
than the overuse thereof,
for the essence of beauty is negligence
and the merest thought of
the beautiful should always
be of mind.

The ugly too often
think themselves beautiful;
but these are the ones, then,
who never fall in beauty,
apart from the surface.

Yet
we must look at them
their outward shells our weakness.

This particular one was actually another attempt at playing with a certain style I personally knew little about. Trying to break up a poem into stanzas while spacing it as if none existed turned out a little too difficult for me. I've not tried this style since.

(Also not certain the spacing will work here... we'll see.)

*grins* I happen to like this one too, although I've never really been happy about the verbal imagery. Sometimes I think I get too preachy in my poetic speech.
